How to Build a Med Spa Marketing Calendar for the Year
A month by month planning framework that ties treatments to seasons, so promotions are decided before the month starts.
A marketing calendar is not a list of holidays. It is a decision about what you are promoting each month, made far enough ahead that the content, the offer and the schedule can line up.
Step one: pick one focus per month
One primary treatment or outcome per month is enough. It gives you a reason to post repeatedly without repeating yourself, and it gives your team a single thing to talk about at the front desk.
Step two: work backwards from patient timelines
Aesthetic results take time. Someone getting married in June starts a skin plan in March. A patient wanting a series of laser sessions needs to start before the sun exposure season in your region. Place the promotion where the decision happens, not where the event happens.
Step three: a workable default year
- January: reset and skin health, memberships and packages.
- February: lips and subtle enhancement, gift ideas.
- March: pre-summer prep, laser and body plans that need lead time.
- April: bridal and event season prep.
- May: hydration, glow treatments, graduation and wedding timing.
- June: sun safety and maintenance, quick refresh appointments.
- July: low downtime treatments for holiday season.
- August: back to routine, consultations and treatment planning.
- September: resurfacing season starts, series enrolments.
- October: injectables ahead of the holidays, staff and training content.
- November: promotions, gift cards, memberships for next year.
- December: bookings for January, thank you and community content.
Adjust for your climate and your patient base. A practice in the Caribbean and a practice in Chicago do not share a seasonal calendar.
Step four: turn each month into four weeks
For each month, decide the campaign, the offer, the proof you need and the posting days. A simple weekly rhythm works: education early in the week, proof mid week, behind the scenes late in the week, offer at the weekend.
Step five: decide what you need to capture
The most common reason a calendar fails is missing visuals. Before the month starts, list the photos and clips you need and shoot them in one or two sessions. A calendar with a suggested visual for every item makes that list obvious.
Step six: review last month before planning the next
Look at what got booked, not just what got liked. If a treatment filled the schedule, give it another month. If a post format consistently drove consultations, make it a fixture.
Shortening the work
This framework is the part software should do for you. MedSpa Planner takes your treatments, city, brand voice and goals, chooses the month's focus and campaigns, then writes and dates every post, Story and Reel around it, with the visual to capture for each one.
