What Should I Post If I Have No Before-and-After Photos?
New practice, no consent forms, or nervous patients? You can build a full month of med spa content without a single before-and-after image. Here are 20 post types that work.
Before-and-after photos are the content most med spas lean on, and the content most likely to cause a compliance problem. If you are newly open, waiting on consent forms, or treating patients who do not want to be shown, you still have plenty to post.
Why this is not a disadvantage
Results photos prove an outcome. They do not answer the questions that actually stop people booking: does it hurt, how long does it last, what if I hate it, is this right for me, who is touching my face. Those answers live in content you can shoot today.
20 posts you can make without a single result photo
Education 1. What this treatment does at a skin or muscle level, in plain language 2. Who is a good candidate, and who is not 3. What this treatment will not fix, and which one does instead 4. Treatment A versus treatment B, honestly compared 5. How long results typically last, with ranges rather than promises
Authority 6. Your provider's training background and what they specialise in 7. A walkthrough of how a consult actually runs, minute by minute 8. Why you chose the device you use 9. Your safety and complication protocols 10. A case you declined to treat, and your reasoning
Objection handling 11. The pain question answered specifically: needle size, numbing, time in chair 12. Downtime by day: day one, day three, week two 13. Cost framed per month across the maintenance cycle 14. What happens if you do not like the result 15. Why cheaper is not always cheaper in aesthetics
Process and practice 16. Room tour and what patients see when they arrive 17. Sterilisation and setup, filmed without patients 18. Aftercare rules as a saveable checklist 19. Product picks you actually stock and why 20. Frequently asked questions answered as a talking-head Reel
Content formats that fill the gap
- Talking-head Reels. Your provider answering one question in 30 seconds outperforms most graphics.
- Text-on-screen carousels. Cheap to make, highly saveable, great for education.
- Story polls and question boxes. They generate the DMs that turn into consults.
- Hands and product B-roll. Close-ups of setup, tools and skincare, no faces required.
- Voice-over over room footage. Useful when nobody wants to be on camera.
When you do start using results photos
Get written consent that specifically covers social media. Shoot in the same lighting, same angle, same distance, no filters and no editing. Label the number of sessions and the time between photos, and state clearly that results vary. Follow your state advertising rules and each platform's policy on prescription treatment names.
Build a month around what you have
MedSpa Planner writes a full month around your actual capability, including a suggested visual for each post that you can realistically shoot in your own space. If you have no results photos yet, the plan leans on education, authority and objection content instead, and every caption is compliance-scored before it reaches your feed.
